REMEDIATION TECHNIQUE FOR CADMIUM CONTAMINATED GROUNDWATER: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

نویسندگان

چکیده

Heavy metal pollution in soil has seriously affected the living environment of human beings Among all heavy pollution, cadmium (Cd) is one most difficult to migrate pollutants soil. Therefore, this systematic review includes remediation techniques Cd-contaminated groundwater that using. Different techniques, including pump and treat, permeable reactive barrier, adsorption, biosorption, electrochemical, precipitation, ion exchange bioremediation are reviewed. The advantages disadvantages some technologies for from outlined order assist selection a suitable technology project. Bioremediation common strategy used with low Cd concentrations due ability bacterial cells bioremediate Cd.

On-site biological remediation of contaminated groundwater: a review.

On-site biological treatment has been used for groundwater cleanup from industrial and agricultural chemicals. The pump-and-treat efficiency is controlled by retardation of contaminants by sorption onto the saturated subsurface solids and by the presence of non-aqueous-phase liquids in the aquifer. On-site bioreactors have been widely used for treatment of contaminants such as petroleum hydroca...

Remediation technologies for heavy metal contaminated groundwater.

The contamination of groundwater by heavy metal, originating either from natural soil sources or from anthropogenic sources is a matter of utmost concern to the public health. Remediation of contaminated groundwater is of highest priority since billions of people all over the world use it for drinking purpose. In this paper, thirty five approaches for groundwater treatment have been reviewed an...

Use of iron-based technologies in contaminated land and groundwater remediation: a review.

Reactions involving iron play a major role in the environmental cycling of a wide range of important organic, inorganic and radioactive contaminants. Consequently, a range of environmental clean-up technologies have been proposed or developed which utilise iron chemistry to remediate contaminated land and surface and subsurface waters, e.g. the use of injected zero zero-valent iron nanoparticle...

Sustainable remediation: electrochemically assisted microbial dechlorination of tetrachloroethene-contaminated groundwater

Microbial electric systems (MESs) hold significant promise for the sustainable remediation of chlorinated solvents such as tetrachlorethene (perchloroethylene, PCE). Although the bio-electrochemical potential of some specific bacterial species such as Dehalcoccoides and Geobacteraceae have been exploited, this ability in other undefined microorganisms has not been extensively assessed. Hence, t...

Enhanced electrokinetic remediation of cadmium contaminated soils by chelating agents

Electrokinetic soil remediation by electroosmosis and ionic migration is restricted to soluble substances. At a higher pH, the soil particles sorb more heavy metals than at a lower pH and the precipitation reactions of heavy metals are promoted. Both mechanisms make heavy metals immobile, rendering cleanup more difficult and electrokinetic extraction inefficient. In this study, the effectivenes...
